Youtube used to be a refuge from doomscrolling then they added shorts and it felt like they were trying to make me stupider and less attentive.

Turns out overexcited investors gullible to overblown claims doesn't mean revolutionary tech. Who could've guessed?! (Lot's of people as it happens.)

The tagline is "No watermark. No app. No bullshit." which is nice. It works well enough for me although I'm not on tiktok or Instagram so only tested a YT video. The dev who built it says it's going to be ad free until at least 1k/day downloads, which is lovely.

I'd not be surprised if we find out Microsoft were counting each Copilot button as a Copilot customer. After all they gave OpenAI free use of their servers then OpenAI counted it as a $10 billion investment.
